Harpenden Living Room Design Boards & Berkhamsted Cloackroom Update

These lovely bright crushed velvet cushions are for a teenage living room design we’re currently working on. They are going to sit on a white leather corner sofa, with a black and white flock Designers Guild wallpaper on the wall behind. The brightly coloured cushions tie in with a Designers Guild rug that she already owned and really loved, so these will bring it all together.

In contrast, we’ve been working on a calm and elegant living room design for a project in Harpenden, using tones of grey, taupe and inky charcoal. A large, custom sized corner sofa and love seat, create a sociable space for the family to enjoy, surrounding a large (1m x 2m!) deep buttoned footstool table which we will dress with a tray, books, flowers and candles. I can’t wait to show you the finished room.

This charming wallpaper is called ‘Sark’ and is by Manuel Canovas. We’ve used it here in a clients downstairs cloakroom, and it has received lots of compliments already! The freestanding chest will be painted in an aqua colour to pick up the colour on the wings of the birds, and we’ll be giving them new gold handles. We’re looking at sunburst mirrors to hang above the sink, and then the room will be complete. Small rooms such as cloakrooms are ideal for using fun printed wallpapers such as this one – I think it looks great.

This week we’ve also been very busy seeing clients and making final decisions on designs. Now I’m ending the week at my desk preparing to place all the orders. I love each stage of the design process, I can’t wait to see them all once they’ve been made and installed

Happy weekend everyone – we’re making sure we enjoy our Friday night Prosecco before the world wide Prosecco shortage hits (well just incase!)
