Design Inspiration, New Pattern Books & A Short Week Away

I love sourcing artwork for my clients, or even using a piece of art that they already own, and using it as inspiration for a room. By drawing on the colours and tones in an image for inspiration, you can create a really subtle and sophisticated, cohesive design. I particularly like this piece below, which has a lovely warm feel to it, but is also very calm and relaxing – I think I have just the perfect project in mind!

I’ve recently had lots of visits from my fabric and wallpaper reps, from various suppliers, all showing me their latest collections. Because of this, I’ve since had lots of lovely deliveries of new pattern books (to add to my constantly expanding collection!). It always feels a bit like Christmas when they arrive and we unpack them, remembering what we’ve ordered. Lots of lovely fabrics to get inspired by!

Having had an exceptionally busy August, we ended this week early, packed up and headed down the the Cornish coast to get a bit of rest in the sunshine (or so we hoped!) Unfortunately the rain didn’t let up the entire time we were there, but none the less we had a great mini break and recharged our batteries. In order to avoid the wet weather, we spent one afternoon exploring the shops (and pubs) of St Ives. I came across a beautiful gift shop selling some amazing faux hydrangeas in a stunning array of colours, some of the best I’ve seen. Just what we needed to brighten up such a grey and wet afternoon!

Hope you all manage to recharge this weekend too – Happy Friday!

Claire.
