Living Room Design – Chesham Bois

We designed this calm and inviting living room for our clients who wanted a light and airy space. The house is set amongst woodland, which means natural light can be restricted in the room. To counteract this, we painted the room Fired Earth ‘Filing Cabinet’ and chose white painted furniture to further lighten the space. The carpet was replaced with an ashed oak floor, and in place of the heavily patterned curtains we used a simple neutral and aqua stripe on a chunky antiqued white wooden pole.

The space is used by the family, including Millie, the labrador, so it was important that the upholstery fabric was practical. We opted for a neutral fabric with a self pattern, which makes it more forgiving for everyday wear. The large modular corner sofa means there is plenty of room for the whole family to relax together and enjoy the space.
